The vision of the Center for Dance Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyles is to assist dancers, and dance companies in achieving the best possible performance with fewer injuries by ensuring that health and nutrition are an integral part of each dancer’s education and experience. The CDN works with individuals and non-dancers as well as providing comprehensive consultation and educational nutrition services for academic schools, dance schools, dance companies, pilates and fitness studios.
It is part of the mission of the CDN to contribute to healthy communities by combining nutrition education and dance to combat childhood obesity and other nutrition related health problems. We can provide nutrition and cooking classes with dance education to schools and community groups.

The dance world is a highly competitive environment in which dancers are expected to perform at high levels of physical fitness, and choreographic demands continue to increase as this art form becomes progressively more athletic.

Being competetive in the dance world takes educated nutrition expertise to maximize performance, increase muscle mass, decrease body fat percentage, and reduce injuries.

Dancers are often unaware that poor eating habits, restrictive, or disordered eating actually have been shown to increase body fat percentage, decrease athletic performance, and increase injury rates.
Disordered eating practices can be devastating for dancers, schools, and companies.

Our registered dietitian has the professional experience and education to assist dancers to become stronger, healthier, and more competetive.
